Digital Design
Much of my digital design work is done in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. On top of creative work in both of these applications, I also have become well-versed in using them for pre-print production applications. I also served as an assistant instructor for a course over proper design techniques and elements, which was taught in these programs.
This design draws inspiration from my hometown, which consists of the anhinga bird and a navigational channel marker along with coordinates from a marina on my Hilton Head Island.
This notepad was designed and printed by me using the offset lithographic printing process. The design draws inspiration from what I and my peers would like to have on a notepad, with moon phase, day of the week, and tide fields.
The sailboat piece was one created for a garment campaign I designed for. This design utilizes layer effects in Illustrator along with base Illustrator design features. This was printed on a white t-shirt utilizing the DTG digital garment printing method.
Part of a client project, this was a production run of promotional cards for Hunting Island State Park, SC.
As part of a class assignment, I had to design and manufacture a custom personal business card. This card was printed on an HP indigo 7900 press, achieving high-quality prints with tight registration comparable to offset lithography. This card has a foil sleeking pattern on the front, which was overprinted with green in order to create a reflective “jade green” effect. This card also has a soft touch coating on the front and back to contribute to overall quality and feel. This card was ultimately put on display by the Clemson University Department of Graphic Communications.
Another garment production - this time done with conventional screen print. This is a self-portrait design I created based on a photo taken of me. This image was rasterized and output as a TIFF with halftones for production.
One of my first and favorite personal designs was this fictional movie poster based on a book I read titled “Dove.” I wanted to capture the nature of the book while also drawing someone in to want to know the Dove story.
